Janis Lyn Joplin was born on January 19, 1943 and died way too soon - October 4, 1970. She was an amazing, powerful and soulful singer from Port Arthur, TX. Joplin has influenced many of the most popular female singers we have known, but there will never be another quite like her. I tear up often while listening to this bluesy babe, even now. Thanks for being such a rockin' wild thing Janis!
