On April 8, 1977, The Clash, who eventually became England's most well known punk rock band, released their self titled debut album in the United Kingdom. It wasn't released in the United States until 1979, and some of the tracks were different on that version. "Career Opportunities" was the first song on side 2 from that original 1977 UK vinyl pressing (second on US), and features as our 'Today's Tune' for this installment.
The track deals with a subject matter that's on the minds of a huge number of people these days too, making it a very timely choice of indulgence right now, I should think.
First up is the original studio piece, followed by a live performance of the song for today.
