Pharmville
By Brian Lumley at Rumblings From The Man Cave
I've realized that anxiety is like wearing a good pair of prescription glasses. Everything is tack-sharp and my focus on life is there. I see all the details.
Meds are like taking those glasses off and being forced to look at the world when you're near-sighted. Everything is still there yet it's out of focus and blurry...

Countdown to ADAC Rallye Deutschland
Posted at WRC.com
And so, we return to the city of the Black Gate. It sounds like something out of Lord of the Rings, doesn’t it?
Frodo Baggins’ quest for the ‘One Ring’ is, however, a mere stroll in the park compared with this year’s Rallye Deutschland. The Dark Lord Sauron would likely be a more sympathetic foe than Panzerplatte...
Citroen boss wins the Sebastien lottery
Posted at WRC.com
Citroen Total World Rally Team principal Olivier Quesnel has described his two-Sebastien driver liver line up as like winning the lottery twice.
The Frenchman is delighted with the way Sebastien Ogier has slotted in to the factory team alongside legend Sebastien Loeb and Quesnel is confident there will be more pace on the two remaining gravel rallies of the season where the two Sebs will drive alongside each other again. Next season they will be Citroen stable-mates for the entire year...

Changes on the Capitals beat
By Katie Carrera at Capitals Insider
I've never liked August much. The lull in the NHL's offseason combined with rising temperatures and humidity make this month seem the most removed from hockey. For those who enjoy the sport, it can result in a restless time waiting for the start of training camp, a fresh sheet of ice and the buzz of a new season. Are we there yet?
As most of you know by now, I'll be taking over the Capitals beat at the Post as the tireless Tarik El-Bashir moves on to other reporting ventures. Now that there's a new banner on Capitals Insider, I wanted to introduce myself...

WATCH THIS: Bangladeshi 'Hulk' Movie Trailer 'HALKa'
By Rick Marshall at MTV's Splash Page
I haven't decided how I feel about director Sohel Afgani Rana's "HALKa" movie trailer quite yet. On one hand, it's so full of surreal, so-bad-it's-good awesomeness that it's hard not to love it. On the other hand...
Okay, forget what I just wrote. I love it...
Tony Iommi's Guitar Stolen
By Joe Siegler at Black Sabbath Online
I've received a request from Tony's management to post a news story.
"Sadly, my RED CUSTOM SHOP IOMMI SG was stolen at the tribute show Heaven and Hell performed at High Voltage on July 24th. If you have any information or leads please let us know, we are offering a reward" - Tony
They've also sent over a picture of the guitar that was stolen, too...

By Hockey Mom at Musings Of A Hockey Mom
The fashion flunkees responsible for creating fan gear for all the fabulous hockey-adoring ladies out there have done it again. Here's the latest "female-friendly" team jersey that's a cross between something a 9-year old girl would wear and an Elvis-impersonation gone very wrong...

Wilson: we’re ready for Germany
Posted at WRC.com
Ford team principal Malcolm Wilson is confident the British-based squad can bounce back on Rallye Deutschland next week, after its last outing on asphalt.
The Ford team arrives in Trier knowing that Citroen and Sebastien Loeb have never been beaten on the German event - and that, last time out on asphalt, the Focus RS WRC suffered its heaviest defeat ever to the C4 WRC. That, as far as Wilson is concerned, is history...
In conversation - Bernie Ecclestone & Tavo Hellmund
Posted at Formula1.com
Formula One racing has a long and illustrious past in the United States, but one that has been rather sporadic of late. No surprise then that news the US Grand Prix will be back on the calendar for 2012 has been met with universal excitement. For fans, seeing F1 cars battle it out again on American soil is a dream come true, whilst for teams, manufacturers and sponsors the marketing potential of a stateside race is second to none. However, for the two men responsible for the return - Formula One Group CEO Bernie Ecclestone and Tavo Hellmund, managing partner of Full Throttle Productions LP - it’s been a far more personal quest...

Alice Cooper In London Dungeon Freak-Out
By Ian Fortnam at Classic Rock
For a man who’s made a four-decade career out of slicing his own head off, Alice Cooper veritably squirmed in the face of UK freakdom at the London Dungeon last night, as he auditioned support artistes for his upcoming Halloween Roundhouse shows.
Seated in a blood-spattered throne, Alice selected four winning acts from 12 finalists, themselves hand-picked from a veritable multitude who’d originally enrolled online, crashing Cooper’s website five times in the process...
...In further news, The Coop has a new DVD on the way – and it was filmed in London last year.
Called Theatre Of Death – Live At Hammersmith 2009, it was shot on the last date of the man’s Theatre Of Death World Tour at Hammersmith Apollo. Here’s the full track listing:...

Y&T Man Has Cancer
Posted by mdome at Classic Rock
...“Up to now you haven’t heard much information (other than about my extreme back pain) because there really hasn’t been much until now. I hated leaving you all in the dark but I didn’t want to say anything until there was something conclusive to say. We do have a lot more information now. The number one thing you need to know is that I have cancer. It wasn’t absolutely formally diagnosed until yesterday...

The Last Time... the difference between trophies and Cups
By The Peerless at The Peerless Prognosticator
Hockey – at least as much as its major sports brethren – is a “team” sport. And part of that is its lack of tolerance for gaudy statistics among its champions. At least lately. For example, the last time...
...a 50-goal scorer played on a Stanley Cup winner was in 2001. Joe Sakic netted 54 goals in leading the Colorado Avalanche to a Stanley Cup. Only four times in the past 20 years has a Stanley Cup winner featured a 50-goal scorer (Sakic turning the trick twice)...
