2012 F1 Spanish Grand Prix Review

The 2012 F1 Spanish Grand Prix was run on May 13, 2012 at the Circuit de Catalunya in Montmeló, near Barcelona, Spain. It was the fifth race of the 2012 season of Formula One racing.

The fifth different driver was victorious, making this a very interesting season, so far. It was Pastor Maldonado, the first Venezuelan ever to win a Formula One Grand Prix race, in his Williams - Renault car claiming first place. In second was Spaniard Fernando Alonso of Scuderia Ferrari, followed by Finnish Lotus - Renault driver Kimi Räikkönen in third.

Pastor Maldonado was the hero of Barcelona on Sunday afternoon. The Venezuelan's speed in his Williams FW34 came out of left field on Saturday, and in the race he became the fifth different winner this season and the seventh in seven races when he steered it to the British team's first victory since Brazil 2004...
