That Was The Week That Was -- Week 6 (November 13 - 19)
By The Peerless at The Peerless Prognosticator

Week Six was a week to forget. The Caps looked bad on the ice, were subjected to any manner and number of “what’s wrong” navel-gazing exercises from hockey intelligentsia, and fell almost all the way out of the Eastern Conference’s top-eight. Four weeks ago they were 7-0-0 and dreaming sweet dreams of success. Four weeks later they are 3-7-1 since then and have nightmares that they are playing like also rans. So what did this week have in it?...

More 2012 Tour Dates
By Joe Siegler at Black Sabbath Online

That didn't take long. I always assumed it would be longer until more 2012 Tour dates were announced. This appears to be similar to the 1998 "tour", when Black Sabbath played a bunch of European festival dates. This isn't the full fledged "World Tour" which will commence once the new album actually comes out. Although.. By this point in the process, I'd imagine they'd have all the songs mostly written. It wouldn't surprise me to hear at least one new song on these festival dates...

CR AWARDS: Queen
By gbarton at Classic Rock

Queen won the Best Reissue Of The Year Award – come inside for exclusive chinwags with none other than guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor...

...Do you have any theories about why those old Queen albums are still so popular?

Taylor: That’s such a difficult question to answer, there were so many great bands that didn’t last the way we have. We definitely put our hearts into what we did back then. It was beautifully crafted; Freddie and Brian were always utter perfectionists.

May: We were also very competitive at the beginning, and that contributed to our high standards. Being so critical of each other definitely helped to raise the bar. We could all be self-indulgent, but between the four of us we managed to stop that.

Are the newspaper rumours true, is Lady Gaga going to join Queen?

Taylor: No. Even though she nicked the name [from Radio GaGa].

May: It’ll never happen.

Racing against the clock - 2011 pit stops analysed

The combination of DRS and Pirelli tyres has made 2011 a bumper year for the sport, but not just in terms of on-track passing manoeuvres. The characteristics of the Pirelli tyres, designed to improve the racing, have also seen the total number of pit stops rise steeply - so far, there have been an average of 58 stops per race. Slick pit work has always been important in Formula One racing, but the frequency with which the pit crews have been in action this year has brought both speed and consistency to the fore. POSTGAME NOTEBOOK: Islanders 5, Capitals 3

The Caps owned a 2-0 lead, Isles goaltender Rick DiPietro looked shaky to the point that the fans were chanting for back-up Al Montoya as the clock wound down in the first frame, and the offensively challenged Islanders were up to more than 100 minutes since they scored their last goal...

Review: All-star cast shines in 'Masterpiece' film 'Page Eight'
By Alan Sepinwall at What's Alan Watching? via HitFix.com

..."Page Eight" was written and directed by David Hare, who wrote the scripts for "The Reader" and "The Hours" but is a playwright by trade. And there's a very stage-like quality to the film, much of it consisting of Johnny sitting in conference rooms and drawing rooms discussing his life, his legacy and the current state of British intelligence with friends and colleagues, most of them played by a murderer's row of British (and/or Australian) character actors. In addition to Bill Nighy as Johnny, we have Michael Gambon as Benedict, Judy Davis as their colleague Jill, Rachel Weisz as Johnny's inquisitive neighbor Nancy, Ralph Fiennes as the British prime minister, Alice Krige as one of Johnny's many ex-wives and Felicity Jones as their estranged daughter...

Review: BOSS, 1.1 - "Listen"
By Dan Owen at Dan's Media Digest

Kelsey Grammer's struggled to find a hit since Frasier came to an end in 2004, with dreadful sitcoms like Back To You and Hank bombing with audiences. A gifted comic actor, but also just a great actor, it's no wonder he's decided to try his luck with cable drama (which often seems like the only place to find good work these days)...

Stetsons are cool, series gimmicks aren’t
By Pete at Bad Wilf

Pete makes a stab at identifying what worked and didn’t in the 2011 series of Doctor Who.

Delivering television seasons in halves and specials is nice; it’s convenient for producers and puts the show higher in the audience’s recent memory. Taking notice of this structure in the stories, however, seems like a waste of time, especially with so much good already in the 2011 series of Doctor Who...

Talking Point: if a TV series changes its cast,
