By Brian Lumley at Rumblings From The Man Cave

I've realized that anxiety is like wearing a good pair of prescription glasses. Everything is tack-sharp and my focus on life is there. I see all the details.

Meds are like taking those glasses off and being forced to look at the world when you're near-sighted. Everything is still there yet it's out of focus and blurry...

Changes on the Capitals beat
By Katie Carrera at Capitals Insider

I've never liked August much. The lull in the NHL's offseason combined with rising temperatures and humidity make this month seem the most removed from hockey. For those who enjoy the sport, it can result in a restless time waiting for the start of training camp, a fresh sheet of ice and the buzz of a new season. Are we there yet?

As most of you know by now, I'll be taking over the Capitals beat at the Post as the tireless Tarik El-Bashir moves on to other reporting ventures. Now that there's a new banner on Capitals Insider, I wanted to introduce myself...

No surprise then that news the US Grand Prix will be back on the calendar for 2012 has been met with universal excitement. However, for the two men responsible for the return - Formula One Group CEO Bernie Ecclestone and Tavo Hellmund, managing partner of Full Throttle Productions LP - it’s been a far more personal quest...

How Did Kenneth Branagh Become The 'Thor' Director?
Kevin Feige Explains...

Sure, when it was announced that "Swingers" director Jon Favreau would be getting behind the camera for "Iron Man," it came as a bit of a surprise. "Rocketeer" director Joe Johnston for "Captain America"? Okay, that makes sense. Joss Whedon for "The Avengers"? Another surprise — but a pleasant one, for sure.

But for many fans of comics and comic book movies, all those surprises put together still didn't match up to the shock of finding out that Shakespearean veteran Kenneth Branagh would direct "Thor" — a big-screen, live-action film about Marvel's god of thunder. Q: Sebastian, 100th Grand Prix for Red Bull Racing. A front row lock-out and a commanding performance from yourself in qualifying.

Qualifying analysis - relentless Red Bull unbeatable in Budapest?
Posted at Formula1.com on July 31, 2010

Nobody could hold a candle to Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel on Saturday in Hungary - not even team mate Mark Webber, who took a distant second to the German’s dominant pole time. Together the duo look pretty invincible for Sunday’s race, but there’s no doubt Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa in third and fourth, and fifth-placed McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton will do all they can to stop Red Bull having it all their own way in Budapest. We take a team-by-team look at the pre-race form...

Sebastian Vettel Q&A: A perfect lap - now I need a perfect start!
Posted at Formula1.com on August 1, 2010

Having just taken his fourth pole position in a row, there is no doubting Sebastian Vettel’s one-lap performance. While it’s true that he’s found it more difficult to convert those front-row starts into race wins, Vettel is confident that should all change in Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix. Considering the lead he had on Saturday over his team mate Mark Webber and the two Ferraris, few would disagree...

Q: Mark, a commanding win by the end of 70 laps. But it was probably the 43 you managed in your first stint that really set it up.
Mark Webber: Yeah, that’s right. The start we always knew was going to be a little bit tricky on that side. Fernando got a good start. Seb’s was pretty good as well. But we all jumped into the slipstream in the run to the first corner...

Hungary race analysis - everything to play for
Posted at Formula1.com on August 2, 2010

The Hungarian Grand Prix not only put a victorious Mark Webber firmly back in the championship race, it left fans with the tantalising prospect of a genuine five-way fight for the title over the season’s final seven rounds, with just 20 points covering the leading contenders. Red Bull’s prodigious pace in Budapest might lead you to believe they are now favourites, but the RB6 is unlikely to be so perfectly suited to the remaining circuits as it was to the Hungaroring. The wrc.com review: Neste Oil Rally Finland
Posted at WRC.com on August 2, 2010

Ford’s Jari-Matti Latvala is not your typical rally driver, or even your typical Finn. For a start, he doesn’t drink. After celebrating his first win on the Rally Finland - an event that every Finnish driver desperately wants to win - he conceded that on this one occasion he might “taste” a bit of Champagne, but that he certainly wasn’t going to drink.

Unlike many of his tongue-tied compatriots, Latvala also frequently talks - at great length - as if he has swallowed a dictionary. How many other drivers regularly use words such as ‘paradoxical’?...
