"The Blue Marble photo" of Earth, taken from Apollo 17 as it headed to our Moon.
Apollo 17 was launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA on December 7, 1972. It was the the sixth and final manned lunar landing mission of NASA 's Apollo program. As a matter of fact, it was the last manned spacecraft who's mission took it outside of low Earth orbit.
In memory of that last Apollo mission, I've chosen "The Last In Line" (1984 single) by the heavy metal band Dio for our 'Today's Tune'. The video posted is the most recent touring lineup, except for the bass player, with singer Ronnie James Dio acknowledging his fellow musicians at the end.
