The heavy metal band Dio recently cancelled the remainder of their 2009 European tour, as lead singer Ronnie James Dio was taken ill. The following post by Ronnie's wife Wendy is the most recent update to appear on the official web site - RonnieJamesDio.com.
Here is the latest update from Wendy Dio:
"Ronnie has been diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer. We are starting treatment immediately at the Mayo Clinic. After he kills this dragon, Ronnie will be back on stage, where he belongs, doing what he loves best, performing for his fans.
Thanks to all the friends and fans around the world that have sent well wishes. This has really helped to keep his spirit up.

Bummer. I hope he pulls through.
I hope he pulls through too. He's a special kind of guy. He works hard for good causes, including real rock 'n roll and animal rescue.
